Aaron McGruder born on 29th May 1974 is an American cartoonist and writer with a net worth of $10 Million. Born to an African-American family in Chicago, his parents enrolled him in a Jesuit school. He studied there till the age of nine years. Thereafter, he continued his studies at the Oakland Mills High School. Aaron graduated with a major in African-American studies from the University of Maryland. He is famous for portraying the African-American culture through his comic book “The Boondocks”.

Aaron’s interest in comics began while he was studying at the University of Maryland. Frank Cho was the then comic editor for the school newspaper. The post was vacant after Frank graduated, and Aaron grabbed it immediately. Aaron didn’t have any concrete ideas for the comic and instead designed the comic based on his life experiences in his school and neighborhood with a little Hip Hop perspective. This gave birth to the masterpiece “The Boondocks”. It was an instant hit when it was first published in the newspaper. It was praised by everyone, particularly the Black students in the college as it reflected their lifestyle with a great sense of humor.

After his initial success, Aaron began posting the strip on the Internet. It became an online success too. After his graduation, he began publishing his comics with the Universal Press Syndicate. It was such a success that it was eventually published in more than 160 papers all over the country, an impressive record for that time. His comics were also embroiled in controversy for topics such as interracial marriage, charges of racism against the whites, and the constant barrage of attacks against George Bush.

Aaron currently resides in Los Angeles and is working on his Boondocks comics. He is also working on a project whereby he intends to release his comics in an animated comedy series.
