During all of 1980s, he was one of the best players, and during the 1990s, he remained the best competitor. Lendl is described as one of the greatest tennis players ever. Ivan Lendl was at the #1 position for 270 weeks. He broke the record of Jimmy Connors.

In later years, Ivan turned a coach. He has been coaching Andy Murray since December 2011. Ivan has often been described as a man who couldn’t laugh. He was rarely seen on court even smiling.
