Simon Mignolet is a Belgium football player who currently plays for club Liverpool. Simon Mignolet was born on March 6, 1988 in Sint-Truiden, Belgium.

He has a degree in political science, and is capable of speaking Dutch, German, French, English and Belgian. Mignolet's professional football career began with the Sint-Truiden, where he spent the next six years. He helped the team win the Belgian Second Division.

That same year, he won the "Belgian Goalkeeper of the Year" award. In 2010, he started playing for Sunderland, which offered him a five-year, $3.2 million contract. He made 90 appearances over his next three years in the league. In June 2013, he moved to Liverpool, which offered him $14.4 million. Mignolet made his international start in 2011, playing goalkeeper for the Belgium national team.
