Giampaolo Pazzini started his career in 2003 when he was among the players for the Atalanta. With his stint with the team, he played as left hand to striker, appeared in 51 games, and scored 21 goals.

In 2005, he joined Florentina and stayed with the team for three years. Pazzini's role switched from second striker to backup player role when Alberto Gilardino and Adrian Mutu collaborated to form a striking force for the team.

He agreed to move to Sampdoria in 2008. Pazzini named as 3rd top scorer during the 2009-2010 Serie A season. Then, he transferred to Internazionale with a hefty contract in 2011. A year later, he joined the A.C. Milan, in exchange for Antonio Cassano.
