Cannavaro is considered as one of the greatest defenders of his generation. After playing for Bagnoli for a period of time, he was spotted by some agents to play for Napoli. Later on, he was sold to Parma whom he played with for seven years.
With Parma, he won the 1999 UEFA Cup as well as two Coppa Italias. In summer of 2002, he joined Internazionale with a reported fee of €23 million.
