Vontaze Burfict began his career when he joined the Centennial High School's Huskies football team.  He led the team to the CIF title and played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in 2009. He also earned USA Today's High School All American honors in 2008.

In 2009, he started to play with the Arizona State's Sun Devils. He was named by ESPN as the team's midseason defensive MVP. Burfict earned 1st team All-American and Pac-10 Defensive MVP.

He was chosen by the Cincinnati Bengals during the NFL Draft 2012.  Burfict earned second team All-Pro and Pro Bowl in 2013.
