Vontae Davis is a retired American professional football player which has an estimated net worth of $22 million.
Vontae Davis started his career with the football team of the Dunbar High School as a cornerback and wide receiver. He received numerous accolades such as the PrepStar All-American, and D.C. Gatorade Player of the Year.
In college, he played with the Illinois Fighting Illini. During Davis' stint with the team, he was named as the Rookie of the Year. After his junior season, he decided to forego his last year for the team and announced his eligibility for the NFL Draft in 2009.
Davis was chosen by the Miami Dolphins 25th overall during the said draft. He was selected by the Pro Football Weekly for the All-Rookie team. In August 2012, he was traded to the Indianapolis Colts for a second-round draft pick.
On September 18, 2018, Davis instantly made headlines when he surprisingly announced his retirement during the halftime in a game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
