Ricky Williams is a retired American football player who has an estimated net worth of $19 million.
In high school, Ricky Williams started his career at Patrick Henry High School in San Diego, California. While with the team, he earned the 1994 Player of the Year award that was given by San Diego Union-Tribune.
He received an athletic scholarship from the University of Texas and played for the university's football team, the Texas Longhorn. Williams was recognized as the recipient of Doak Walker Award and Jim Brown Trophy in 1997 and 1998.
In 1999, he was selected by the New Orleans Saints during the NFL Draft. Williams spent three seasons with the team. He was traded to the Miami Dolphins for four draft picks.
While with the Dolphins, he was diagnosed with a clinical depression and social anxiety disorder. Williams announced his retirement on August 2, 2004 but returned the next season for the team but he violated the league's drug policy.
During his 2006 suspension, he played for the CFL's Toronto Argonauts and stayed for one season. After several failed drug tests, he was reinstated to the NFL on October 2007.
He went back to the Dolphins until he signed a two-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens in 2011. Williams formally announced his retirement in 2012.
