Percy Harvin played for the Landstown High School football team. While with the team, they achieved the 14-0 record and won the Virginia High School League Group AAA Division 6 state championship in 2004. A year later, he received the Junior Player of the Year honors.

In college, he played for Florida Gators football team. Harvin earned the First-team All-American and the Second-team All-American honors. He received SEC Championship MVP in 2006. In 2009, he announced that he will forgo his eligibility and joined the 2009 NFL Draft.

The Minnesota Vikings selected Harvin as the first round 22nd overall pick during the 2009 NFL Draft. While with the team, he was named as the Associated Press Rookie of the Year, Sporting News NFL Rookie of the Year, and Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year in 2009. He contributed 87 receptions for the team in 2011 season. After his three-year stint with the Vikings, he was traded to Seattle Seahawks in 2013.

Harvin also had a brief stint with the New York Jets. On March 18, 2015, he signed a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills.
