Marcus Allen is a former American football running back and current football analyst on CBS with an estimated net worth of $4 million. Born Marcus LeMarr Allen on March 26, 1960 in San Diego, California, he played quarterback and safety positions at the Abraham Lincoln High School. He was noticed as one emerging superstar when the team played against Kearny High School. He lead the team to a 34-6 victory as he scored five touchdowns and rushed for 195 yards.
Allen attended the University of Southern California between 1978 and 19981. He played running back despite being recruited as a defensive back. During his sophomore, he was moved to fullback while he became a starter at tailback and rushed for 1,563 yards during his third year. In his fourth and final year in college football, he rushed for 2,342 yards and won the Heisman Trophy, the Maxwell Award, and Walter Camp Award.
In 1982, Marcus Allen was drafted by the Los Angeles Raiders in the 1982 NFL Draft. He retired in 1997 and he is considered one of the greatest goal line and short-yard runners in the history of the league. In his entire football career, Allen has scored a total of 145 touchdowns and he was elected to 6 Pro Bowls. In 1999, he was an inductee to the San Diego Hall of Champions, Breitbard Hall of Fame. In 2000, he became an inductee to the College Football Hall of Fame. Three year later, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
