Manti Te'o is a American professional athlete who currently plays in the National Football League for the San Diego Chargers as the team's linebacker.
Manti Malietau Louis Teʻo was born on January 26, 1991 in Laie, Hawaii, USA. He attended University of Notre Dame from 2009 through 2012. While at the university, he became a recipient of eight national awards, in addition to being one of the highly decorated college footballers of all time. In 2012, he was a recipient of the Lott Trophy, Maxwell Award, Chuck Bednarik Award, Walter Camp Award, Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Butkus Award, Lombardi Award, Senior CLASS Award, and ARA Sportsmanship Award.
Eventually, he was selected by the San Diego Chargers as a second round (38th overall) pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
