About Julius Frazier Peppers

Julius Peppers is an American football defensive end who has an estimated net worth of $40 million. He earned his net worth by playing for the Chicago Bears in the National Football League (NFL). Born Julius Frazier Peppers on January 18, 1980, in Wilson, North Carolina, he is the youngest of the three siblings and was raised in nearby Bailey. While he was a freshman at Bailey’s Southern Nash High School, he had grown up 6’5” in (1.96 m) and 225 lb (102 kg). Ray Davis, the football coach, took a gamble on him for the Firebirds. He played running back and defensive lineman. He finished his career with 3,501 rushing yards and 46 touchdowns. The team won the state championship for the first time in the school’s history in 1998. He attended the University of North Carolina and played defensive end for the North Carolina Tar Heels football team from 1999 to 2001. He was recognized as an All-American.

In the 2002 NFL Draft, Peppers was the second overall pick and was selected by the Carolina Panthers where he played for eight seasons. He was the NFL Rookie of the Month and the 2002 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. He became a free agent on February 22, 2010. The Chicago Bears signed him to a six-year contract on March 5, 2010.
