Cris Collinsworth was born on January 27, 1959, in Dayton, Ohio. After attending Astronaut High School, he studied at the University of Florida where he played collegiately. In 1991, he finished his accounting degree at the University of Florida and ten years later, he was elected into the University of Florida Athletic Hall of Fame. In 1981, he debuted into the NFL when he was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals as a second-round pick in the 1981 NFL Draft. His eight-year tenure with the NFL was spent with the Bengals.

After his retirement, Collinsworth started working as a sports radio talk show host for WLW station. In 1989, he became a reporter for Inside the NFL which is aired on HBO. He is the current host of WGN America’s Inside the Vault and color commentator for Madden NFL 09, Madden NFL 10, Madden NFL 11 and Madden NFL 12.
