During high school years, Cordarrelle Patterson played football, basketball and track and field. He finished 75 passes for 944 yards with 18 touchdowns, and eventually, the team won the State Class 4A Division II championship.
Patterson went to Hutchinson Community College and represented the junior football team. He was named to the National Junior College Athletic Association's All-American in 2010 and 2011. Then, in 2012 he received an athletic scholarship at the University of Tennessee, and played for the Tennessee Volunteers football team for a year.
