Chris Harris earned varsity letters in football, basketball, and track while studying at the Bixby High School. During his high school years, the team won the district title in 2006 and earned all-state honorable mention honors.
In college, he committed to play for Kansas Jayhawks in 2011. Harris received numerous accolades which made him one of the best defensive players but remained undrafted until 2011. He got an invitation from the Denver Broncos' training camp.
