Tyrus Thomas is an American professional basketball player with an estimated net worth of $40 million.

Tyrus Thomas started his career when he started playing for the McKinley High School's basketball team. During his senior year with the team, he averaged 16 points, 12 rebounds, and six blocks per game.

He joined LSU Tigers during the 2005-2006 season. Thomas was hailed as SEC Freshman of the Year and contributed to the team with an average of 12.3 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 31 blocks in 32 games.

Thomas was selected as the first round 4th overall pick by the Portland Trail Blazers during the 2006 NBA Draft. He was later traded to the Chicago Bulls. In 2008-2009 season, he averaged 10.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.9 blocks in 79 games.

He was traded once again, this time for the Charlotte Bobcats in 2010. Thomas was acquired by the Iowa Energy on January 13, 2015. Nine days later, he signed a 10-day contract with the Memphis Grizzles.
