A six-time NBA All Star player, Shawn Kemp is currently a retired professional basketball player who played for 14 seasons of the National Basketball Association. After attending the Trinity Valley Community College in Texas, Shawn Kemp declared his eligibility to the NBA.
In 1989, he was selected as the 17th overall pick in the first round of the 1989 NBA Draft by the Seattle SuperSonics. From 1989 to 1997, he played for the Seattle SuperSonics. A three-team blockbuster deal at the end of the 1996-97 season led Kemp to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the next season. When the 1999-2000 season ended, he was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers. In August 2008, he signed a one year deal with the Premiata Montegranaro of the Italian League.
