Popularly known as "K-Mart", Kenyon Martin officially joined the NBA in 2000 when he was selected by the New Jersey Nets as its first overall pick in the first round of the 2000 NBA Draft. When the 2003-2004 season ended, Kenyon Martin as traded to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for three future first round picks.  The following years were not good years for Martin as he was involved in a number of off-the-court issues and he suffered from several knee injuries. Due to the 2011 NBA Lockout, Martin Kenyon signed a one-year deal with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association. In February 2012, he was signed by the Los Angeles Clippers where he scored 4 rebounds and and 6 points in a loss against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
