Jason Collins is an American basketball player which has an estimated net worth of $16 million.

Jason Collins started playing basketball when he led his school, Harvard-Westlake School in California Interscholastic Federation state titles twice during his stint with the team.

In college, along with his twin brother, Jarron played with the Stanford Cardinal. He represented the team in the Pacific-10 Conference. He was named to All-Pac 10 first team and voted as third-team All-American team by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

When he landed a spot to play for the New Jersey Nets, he led the team to berth in the NBA Finals in 2002. Then, after six years with the Nets, Collins was traded to Memphis Grizzlies on February 4, 2008. Four months after his stint with the Grizzlies, Collins moved on to Minnesota Timberwolves on June 26, 2008.  In 2009, he signed a contract with the Atlanta Hawks. He transferred to Boston Celtics in 2012. On April 29, 2013, Collins publicly announced that he's gay. He became a free agent on July 2013 and moved to Brooklyn Nets in 2014.
