Nicknamed as the "Monster Mash", Jamal Mashburn is a retired professional basketball player who played as small forward for 12 seasons of the National Basketball Association. He joined the NBA when he was chosen as the 4th overall pick in the first round of the 1993 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks.

He played collegiately for the University of Kentucky before he was drafted to the NBA in 2003. From 1993 to 1997, he played for the Dallas Mavericks and from 1997-2000, he was part of the Miami Heat team. In 2000, he played for the Charlotte/New Orleans Hornets until 2004. In 2005, he was traded to the Philadephia 76ers but he was never able to play with the team due to an injured right knee.
