Eddy Anthony Curry, Jr. was born on December 5, 1982 in Harvey, Illinois. A graduate of Thornwood High School, Curry announced his intention to attend the DePaul University. However, he decided to declare himself eligible for NBA drafting. In 2001, he was selected by Chicago Bulls as a first round (fourth overall) pick in the 2001 NBA Draft.
He played for the team until 2005. From 2005 through 2010, he played for the New York Knicks. A year later, he was signed by the Miami Heat to a one-year contract and by 2012, he was signed by the San Antonio Spurs. Since December 2012, he has played for the Zhejiang Golden Bulls of the Chinese Basketball Association.
