Born in Miami Florida, Doug Edwards previously played for the NBA when he was selected as the 15th overall pick in the first round of the Atlanta Hawks in the 1993 NBA Draft. From 1993 to 1995, he played for the Atlanta Hawks, and from 1995-1996, he played for the Vancouver Grizzlies.

After playing collegiately at the Florida State University, Doug Edwards was drafted into the NBA. In September 2008, he was hired as the director of the Athletic Department of the Kansas State University. Edwards is estimated to be worth $2.5 million.
