Voted as one of the top 15 players in the history of WNBA, Diana Taurasi is a popular player of the Phoenix Mercury basketball team. Following her highly decorated high school years, Diana Taurasi enrolled at the University of Connecticut where he began playing basketball for the women's team.
In 2004, she was drafted by the Phoenix Mercury into the WNBA. On her WNBA debut, Phoenix did not make it to the Playoffs but Taurasi took home the WNBA Rookie of the Year Award.
On the same year, she was selected to be one of the representatives of the USA at the 2004 Summer Olympics which was held in Athens Greece. The USA women's national basketball team took home a gold medal after defeating Australia.
