Detlef Shrempf is a retired German-American basketball player who played for the Portland Trail Blazers. He has an estimated net worth of $5 million.
Detlef Shrempf's career started upon migrating from Germany to United States, he joined Centralia High School's basketball team. He led the team in winning the Class 3A state championship in 1981.
Upon studying in college, Shrempf played for the Washington Huskies. During his stint with the Huskies, he led the team in winning the Pac-10 in 1984 and 1985. He was named to the All-Pac 10 team and All-America Second Team by The Sporting News.
During the 1985 NBA Draft, he was selected by the Dallas Mavericks. After four years with the team, Schrempf was traded to Indiana Pacers. He was the recipient of NBA Sixth-Man Awards for two years.
In 1993, Schrempf moved to the Seattle SuperSonics and reached the team to the NBA Finals in 1996 against Chicago Bulls. Then, in 1999, he was released by the Sonics and signed up with the Portland Trail Blazers. He announced his retirement from playing basketball in 2001.
Five years after leaving NBA, Schrempf was hired by the Indiana Pacers as assistant coach under Bob Hill in 2006.
Detlef Schrempf was born on January 21, 1963 in Leverkusen, West Germany. He took up International Business at University of Washington and a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He is married to Mari Schrempf and has two sons.
