About Charlie Will Bell III

Charlie Bell is an American former professional basketball player and current coach who has an estimated net worth of $1 million. Born Charlie Will Bell III on March 12, 1979 in Flint, Michigan, he began playing basketball at Flint Southwestern Academy High School. He then played college basketball at Michigan State University where he had a successful career. He appeared in three NCAA Final Fours and was named Michigan State Defensive Player of the Year during his four playing years.

Bell was not selected during the NBA Draft but he was signed by the Phoenix Suns as a free agent in 2001. He spent the next year bouncing from the Suns, to the Phoenix Eclipse of the American Basketball Association (ABA), to the Dallas Mavericks, before choosing to leave the NBA and head to Europe. From 2002 to 2004, he placed for Benetton Treviso, Virtus Bologna, and Mabo Livorno, all based in Italy. His time in Italy was marked by injury, and it was not until he moved to Spain to play for Leche Rio Breogan, that he finally returned to his previous level of play. His time in Spain was quite successful.

When Charlie Bell returned to the US to play with the Milwaukee Bucks, he was successful with the team through 2010. He was then traded to the Golden State Warriors, who subsequently waived him. He is married to model, singer, and former Miss Michigan Kenya Bell, but they divorced in 2012.

He is the current coach of the Iowa Wolves of the NBA G League. He was previously the assistant coach for the Texas Legends in the same league.
