Felipe Massa was born on April 25, 1981 in São Paulo, Brazil. At age eight, Massa started off his racing career by karting. He then spent the next seven years competing in numerous regional and national championships. Eventually, he moved to Formula Chevrolet, where he later won the championship. In 2000, he moved to Italian Formula Renault.
In 2003, Massa launched his career at the Formula One. Initially, he was with Sauber but he later joined Ferrari as a test driver. His first race occurred at the 2002 Australian Grand Prix. In the 2004 and 2005 seasons, he raced for Sauber. In 2006, he re-joined Ferrari, where he won two races: the Brazilian Grand Prix and Turkish Grand Prix.
