Karo Parisyan is an American mixed martial artist which specializes in Judo, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Karo Parisyan honed his skills in Judo at the age of nine. It became an outlet for him to take out his anger. Then, he tried out the Hayastan Grappling System which was developed by Gokor Chivichyan and Gene LeBell. The said system has an element of Judo, Sambo, Catch Wrestling, Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling.
Aside from the Hayastan, he joined in several Judo competition in which Parisyan won six Junior National belts. His intention to participate for the 2004 Summer Olympics as he undergo trials prior to the game itself but he received a call from the UFC management.
He made UFC debut in 2003, as Parisyan defeated Dave Strasser. Parisyan won the WEC Welterweight Championship against Shonie Carter. With 18 fights that he became the winner though he sustain injuries in between the said fights.
Parisyan returned to UFC in 2010 after his stint with the Strikeforce. Then, he appeared at Bellator MMA.
Karapet Parisyan was born on August 28, 1982 in Yerevan, Armenia.
