Scott Gomez is an American professional ice hockey player with an estimated net worth of $36 million.
Scott Gomez played for the British Columbia Hockey League's South Surrey Eagles. The team won the Gold medal at the 1997 Royal Bank Cup against Summerside Western Capitals. Eventually, he moved to the Western Hockey League's Tri-City Americans.
He joined the 1998 NHL Entry Draft as the first round, 27th overall pick by the New Jersey Devils. Gomez received the Calder Memorial Trophy during his rookie year with the team. While with the Devils, they won the Stanley Cup twice in 2000 and 2003.
Gomez turned to be an unrestricted free agent after he left the Devils and signed a seven-year contract with New York Rangers in 2007. He was named as an alternate captain on October 3, 2008.
After two seasons with the Rangers, he was traded to Montreal Canadiens in 2009. During the 2012-2013 NHL lockout, Gomez played for 13 games for the East Coast Hockey Leagues' Alaska Aces. He had a brief stint with the San Jose Sharks, and Florida Panthers. In 2014-2015 NHL season, he returned and signed a one-year contract with the New Jersey Devils.
