Rick Tocchet is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player for the Philadelphia Flyers.

Rick Tocchet began his career when he was drafted during the sixth round of the NHL Entry Draft in 1983, he was chosen by the Philadelphia Flyers. Then, he was traded to Pittsburgh Penguins in 1992. With his stint with the Flyers and the Penguins, he led both teams to win the Stanley Cup respectively.

During his entire career as an ice hockey player, Tocchet also played for other teams such as Los Angeles Kings, Boston Bruins, Washington Capitals, and Phoenix Coyotes. Then, in 2000 he returned to Flyers and after one season, he decided to retire.

He had a brief stint as an assistant coach for the Colorado Avalanche during the 2002-2003 season; Phoenix Coyotes in 2005; and Tampa Bay Lightning in 2008. After Tocchet fired out by Tampa Bay, he served as as a Flyers Postgame Live panelist on Comcast SportsNet. He was accused of financing a gambling ring in New Jersey and was plead guilty to conspiracy and promoting gambling. He was sentenced for two years probation.
