Mats Zuccarello started playing hockey at an early age of five when he joined the Hasle-Løren. Upon honing his skills, he was able to play for other teams such as Frisk Tigers, and Modo Hockey.
In 2010, he signed a contract with the New York Rangers as a free agent. Zuccarello went on to play for the Rangers' affliate, Hartford Wolfpack. He took part in the NHL postseason in 2011.
