Jaroslav Halak started getting involved in playing on ice when he was with the American Hockey League's Hamilton Bulldogs. Then in 2007, he joined the Montreal Canadiens but was assigned during the majority of 2007-2008 season to the Bulldogs.
He became a full-time goaltender for the Canadiens in 2008. Halak was named as Molson Cup Player of the Year for 2009-2010 season. After the said season, he was traded to the St. Louis Blues after he was announced as a restricted free agent.
Halak's stint with the Blues which hailed him as one of the NHL's Stars of the Week and received the William M. Jennings Trophy during the 2011-2012 season. After his stay with the team, he moved to the Buffalo Sabres and the Washington Capitals.
During his brief stint with Sabres and Capitals, Halak went onto the New York Islanders in 2014.
