Duncan Keith started playing ice hockey when he joined the Fort Frances Times Tigers. Before he became a pro, he played for the AA Atom, Knight of Columbus' Peewee, and British Columbia Hockey League's Penticton Panthers.
In 2002, he was chosen by the Chicago Blackhawks during the NHL Entry Draft. Prior to his debut with the team, Keith played for its affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals. He was named alternate captain for the Blackhawks in 2008.
He was chosen as the recipient of the James Norris Memorial Trophy awardee in 2010 and 2014, and further led the Blackhawks in winning the Stanley Cup in 2010 and 2013.
