Steve Stricker grew up playing golf in Edgerton, Wisconsin. He earned the All-American honors as member of the University of Illinois golf team in 1988 and 1989.

In 1990, he turned professional and won two tournaments in the Canadian Professional Golf Tour. Four years later, Stricker joined the PGA Tour and won 12 tournaments including the 2001 WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship and Memorial Tournament.

Stricker received several accolades such as Payne Stewart Award in 2012 and Byron Nelson Award in 2013.
