Brian Shaw is an American basketball coach and retired basketball player who has an estimated net worth of $27.2 million.
Brian Shaw started his career when he joined the Westlake Middle School and Bishop O' Dowd High School's basketball team. In college, he became member of the athletic team of St. Mary's College of California and University of California-Santa Barbara.
While with the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos, he was named as the Pacific Coast Athletic Association player of the year. Shaw led the team in winning the NCAA tournament.
During the 1988 NBA Draft, he was chosen as the 24th overall pick by the Boston Celtics. After his one-year stint with the team, he played for an Italian team, Il Messaggero Roma in 1989. Shaw returned to the Celtics in 1990 and signed a five-year contract.
Shaw had been played for several teams such as Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers. He retired from playing following the 2002-2003 season.
He worked for Lakers as assistant coach during the 2004-2005 season. Shaw spent two years as Indiana Pacers' assistant coach and associated head coach before he became the head coach of Denver Nuggets in 2013.
Brian Keith Shaw was born on March 22, 1966 in Oakland, California. He is married to Nikki, a professional chef and has two children.
