Riddick Bowe is a retired American professional boxer with an estimated net worth of $30 thousand. He was born Riddick Lamont Bowe on August 10, 1967 in Brooklyn, New York. He grew up in one of New York’s toughest slum areas and became an amateur boxer at the age of 17.

Bowe won the New York Golden Gloves Championship in 1984. He lost in the 1985 National Golden Gloves and won the silver medal during the 1988 Seoul Championships when he was stopped by Lennox Lewis in the second round.

Riddick Bowe began his professional boxing career with a knockout on novice Lionel Butler in March 1989.  His list of knockout wins included matches against Bert Cooper, Olympic super-heavyweight gold medalist Tyrell Biggs, Bruce Seldon and Pierre Coetzer.

Bowe is a former two-time world heavyweight champion. He won the WBA, WBC and IBF titles in 1992 which made him the undisputed heavyweight champion. He then won the WBO heavyweight title in 1995. In 1996, he announced his retirement but made a return in 2004 and remains inactive since 2008.

Riddick Bowe is the first fighter to have defeated Evander Holyfield during the 1992 undisputed world heavyweight title. He was also the first fighter to knockout Holyfield in their 1995 rubber match. His boxing career has a record of 43-1-0 with 33 knockouts. His only undefeated contender was Buster Mathis Jr. where they ended in a draw.
