About Pedro Jaime Martinez

Pedro Martinez is a former Dominican-American professional baseball player with an estimated net worth of $110 million.

Pedro Martinez's love for baseball started using improvised ball made of socks. His brother, Ramon tagged him along at a Los Angeles Dodgers baseball camp and clocked his pitches which led him to join the Major Baseball League.

He made his debut to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1992 after several years of taking the pitcher position for the team's farm system. Two years later, Martinez played as a pitcher  for the Montreal Expos. During his stint with the team, he was the first right-handed pitcher to reach 300 strikeouts with an ERA under 2.00.

In November 1997, Martinez was traded to Boston Red Sox. During his tenure with the Red Sox, he won the Cy Young Award in 1997, 1999 and 2000. Also, he was recognized as MLB All-Star Game MVP in 1999. He finished his career with the team with a 117-37 record.

When he became a free agent, he signed a four-year contract with New York Mets. After his stint with the Mets, he joined the Philadelphia Phillies after playing for the Dominican Republic squad in 2009. He announced his retirement on December 4, 2011 after 17 years in the majors.

Pedro Jaime Martinez was born on October 25, 1971 in Manoguayabo, Dominican Republic.
