Receiving an annual salary of $13.5 million in 2013, Paul Konerko is an American baseball athlete who currently plays in the Major League Baseball for the Chicago White Sox as the team's first baseman. He has been playing for the team since 1999.

Paul Henry Konerko was born on March 5, 1976 in Providence, Rhode Island. While he was attending  Chaparral High School, Konerko was named as the Player of the Year  by the Arizona Republic/Phoenix Gazette. 

In 1994, Paul Konerko was selected as a first round (13th overall) pick by the Los Angeles Dodgers  in the 1994 Major League Baseball Draft. Along with Dennys Reyes, he was eventually traded to Chicago White Sox in exchange for Mike Cameron.

In November 2005, he was signed by the White Sox to a  five-year $60 million contract after he turned down the lucrative offers of Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Angels. Along with Ryan Howard, Paul Konerko was elected into the  Arizona Fall League Hall of Fame. In 2005, he was a part of the team which won the World Series champion. He was selected to an All-Star game in 2002, 2005, 2006, 2010, 2011, and 2012.
