About Ozzie Smith

Popularly known as “The Wizard” because of hi defensive Brilliance, Ozzie Smith is a professional baseball player who played for the St. Louis Cardinals and San Diego Padres of the Major League Baseball from 1978 to 1996. He was part of the St. Louis Cardinals team that won in the 1982 World Series.

In 1987, he became the recipient of NL Silver Slugger Award for being the best-hitting shortstop of the year. On his first year of eligibility in 2002, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
