Named as NBA's all time leading scorer, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is a retired professional basketball player with an estimated net worth of $20 million as of 2o12.

Born on April 16, 1947 in New York City, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was raised as a Roman Catholic but was later converted into Islam in the early 1960s. During his high school years, Jabbar led the Power Memorial Academy into three championships. In college, he played for the University of California Los Angeles Bruins. In 1969, he was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks as its first overall pick in the 1969 NBA Draft. He played with the franchise until 1975 when he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers together with Walt Wesley. He played with the Lakers until 1989.

Throughout his professional basketball career from 1969 to 1979, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has earned 6 MVP Awards for regular season and won 6 NBA Championships.

Abdul Jabbar was formerly married to Habiba Abdul-Jabbar (b. Janice Brown). The couple had three children together, Kareem Jr., Sultana and Habiba. After their divorce in 1978, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had another sons Amir and Adam to different mothers.
