Ernie Broglio is a retired American baseball player who played for the Chicago Cubs.

Ernie Broglio’s career started when he signed up for Oakland Oaks.  Then, he joined New York Giants’ minor league system in 1956.

After his stint with the Giants, he was traded to St. Louis Cardinals in 1957. He led the Cardinals in winning the 1964 World Series. During his career as a baseball player, Broglio made 77 wins, 74 defeats and earned run average of 3.74. He was known for the lopsided trade that outfielder Lou Brock sent him from Chicago Cubs to the Cardinals on June 15, 1964.
