Fast and Furious 9 has been pushed back from April 2019 to April 2020 and it has a few cast members battling it out on social media.  Tyrese Gibson blames Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson for the delay. The singer turned actor took to Instagram to blast his co-star for holding up the release date. For the past few weeks, The Rock and Gibson have been going back and forth taking shots at each other.

It all started with a rumor that “The Rock” just closed a deal with Universal Pictures to film a spin-off movie for his character Agent Hobbs. According to pagesix.com, the film will reportedly star Charlize Theron and Jason Statham. Gibson feels that Johnson should wait on filming the spin-off due to fear of it competing with the release date of Fast and Furious 9. The spin-off has yet to be confirmed by The Rock or Universal Pictures, however, Gibson’s actions suggest there may be some truth behind it.

Suggestions of their rift began in 2016 when The Rock went on a rant blasting his male co-stars for their lack of professionalism and even went as far as referring to them as chicken sh*t.  At the time, Gibson attempted to clear the air commenting on the Rock’s post stating that he had no idea who the Rock was referring to and they are on good terms. However, with the recent development, we can only assume there may be more to the story than Tyrese wanted to reveal.

Gibson posted a video on Instagram of the Rock from 2015 referring to Tyrese's R B album "Black Rose" as dog sh*#. In the caption, Gibson states, “Haters come in all forms … In my Kanye voice #BlackRose is one of the greatest R&B Soul Albums of all time my single SHAME was #1 on Billboard for 16 weeks my album came in #1 on the TOP 200!!! Real R&B music lovers know….. This album is in a league of its own #BlackRose.” There is clearly trouble in paradise in Fast Land.

The feud was reignited a few weeks ago when the Rock posted a cryptic photo on Instagram mentioning deals being closed in his movie trailer. Tyrese commented on the photo stating how the cast, referred to as the #FastFamily ate together, played together and did not fly solo. Gibson added,“#PSA Congratulations to @TheRock and your brother in law aka 7 bucks producing partner @hhgarcia41 for making the fast and the furious franchise about YOU – And like you, DJ even if they call I will not be deleting this post.”

Gibson stated he only took to social media to confront The Rock because he has tried to reach out by phone and text messages which have gone unanswered.  Gibson, who does not mind getting personal on social media, told Johnson that he still has the same San Diego cell number and he can call him because he does not do email.  The Rock has yet to comment on Tyrese’s allegations, and from the looks of it, Tyrese is not letting this go anytime soon.
