Selena Gomez And The Weeknd Are Living Together

In case you haven’t been paying attention, Selena Gomez and The Weeknd are very much an item and very much want you to know about it. The two have been spotted all over town, and now it seems they’re shacking up together.

According to sources speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Gomez and Abel Makkonen Tesfaye (who goes by the stage name The Weeknd) purchased an expensive new apartment in New York’s Greenwich Village.

But don’t get too excited—even though this is a big step for the couple, it’s likely only going to be for a few months. Gomez is currently shooting for a new Woody Allen film (which has yet to be given a title), and after that who knows where she’ll be for her next project. The Weeknd probably won’t be around too often either as he’s still on his “Starboy: Legend of the Fall” tour until the end of 2017, which will take him all over the continental United States as well as New Zealand and Australia.

All the same, sources close to the couple say this is a “big deal” for Gomez as she usually stays in swanky hotels while she’s working on temporary projects.

By all reports, the couple’s rental apartment is luxurious by any standard, with 11.6 foot high ceilings in case the pair wanted to play an indoor volleyball game. There’s also Juliette glass balconies and English kitchens (emphasis on the plural kitchens). Similar units have been rented out for over $16,000 a month, with some going for nearly twice that.

Lest we forget, the master bath "is outfitted with his and her vanities, a steam shower, and Kohler cast-iron bathtub," just in case they wanted to re-enact a bit of The English Patient while they’re home.

"They’ve both been very gracious to the neighbors and seem very happy with their living arrangement,” said a source speaking with ET.

This is the second time Gomez moved in with a boyfriend. The first time was with Justin Bieber back in 2012, which didn’t exactly end well for them. According to Bieber in an interview with Complex, the two of them were just a little too young and naive to make it work.

"I moved in with my girlfriend when I was 18,” the Biebs said back in 2014. “Started my own life with her. It was a marriage kind of thing. Living with a girl, it was just too much at that age. But we were so in love. Nothing else mattered. We were all about each other."

Gomez seems to be treating this time pretty seriously though, even going as far as buying the literal cutest puppy ever to make their apartment feel like a true home.
