Noah's Ark may have actually been found.
Those who are believers think that the story of Noah’s Ark from the Bible is literally true. In America, Skeptic says that an ABC poll found 60 percent of Americans (over 184 million people) believe the story of Noah’s ark is true. Those who do not believe in the story of Noah’s ark have some funny quips about it such as, “If the story is true, why would Noah bring along those darn mosquitoes?” There are many Biblical mysteries that scientists think have other explanations instead of religious ones.
What The Bible Says
In Genesis 8:4, it says that Noah’s ark came to rest on Mount Ararat after the flood waters receded. This mountain is found in a part of Turkey. All over the world, many of the stories about ancient times, which were handed down from generation to generation, speak about the Great Flood. There has also been ample archaeological evidence uncovered, in various parts of the world, of a significant sea level rise in amounts that would be considered a global flood if it happened in today’s times. In the future, we may face this flooding again, caused by sea level rise again due to climate change.
Multiple Sites Discovered
During 1987, the Turkish government recognized a site that originally was discovered in the 1970s as the final resting place of Noah’s ark. They made a national park out of it, though many suspect this was simply to create a tourist attraction. A different potential site for Noah’s ark was discovered on Mount Ararat by a group of evangelists during 2010. The Daily Mail UK reported recently about the efforts of another archaeological exploration of the two sites to look for hard scientific evidence.
The theory that the remains of Noah’s ark had been discovered on Mount Ararat was widely debunked. Some scientists claim there is no actual evidence to base such a theory on. Those who made the discovery claimed that wood taken from the site was found to be 4,800 years old by using carbon-dating analysis. This age would be wood from the correct time in history if Noah’s ark existed.
The information about new evidence was delivered by the Geoscience Research Institute (GRI), at a symposium for Mount Ararat and Noah’s ark. The three-day symposium was attended by over 100 researchers from all over the globe. The GRI is investigating the sites under the supervision of Professor Raul Esperante, who is convinced they contain the remains of Noah’s ark. GRI receives funding from the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
PREVIOUSLY: VERSES YOU WON'T BELIEVE CAME FROM THE BIBLE
Most scientists accept that there was a great global flood. Many accept that Noah’s ark was an actual historical event; however, they do not believe in the literal story of Noah taking on board a pair of every different kind of animal on earth. Moreover, there are problems with the site located at Mount Ararat.
Some scientists say that Mount Ararat did not exist in Noah’s time. The mountain came into being after the great flood. They also point out that nearby civilizations, which existed at those times—including the Egyptians and Mesopotamians—would not have been able to continue if the flood waters rose to the top of Mount Ararat.
The evidence given at the symposium claims that on the top of Mount Ararat; there are definitely ancient wooden remains of something at the site being explored. How they got there and what they really are remains unclear. More research is needed to solve this ongoing mystery.
