Kim Kardashian may have debuted her newborn daughters' name last week, but she isn’t stopping there!
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has debuted a new-do. Kardashian took to her Snapchat and Instagram story this past Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, in a video of the star displaying her beaded braids whilst listening to French Montana’s single “Pop That” featuring Rick Ross.
The selfie video in front of Kardashian’s mirror contained no dialogue other than the music and had the public figure swaying on her bed, in what appears to be a motel room. The 37-year-old mother of three was wearing a plunging white shirt and matching underwear while handling a landline telephone in one hand and her iPhone in the other. Kardashian showed off her blonde hair braided back in cornrows each finishing off with white beads.

The reality star took to her Instagram earlier this week to reveal another risqué pic of her in nothing but sparkly underpants in another attempt to possibly break the Internet. Although Kardashian was only displaying her new look, it seems as if it’s gained some negative publicity considering the photo of her new-boxed braids have been criticized and accused of cultural appropriation.
This isn’t the first time the fashion and makeup mogul has been under scrutiny for cultural appropriation nor is she the only member of the Kardashian clan to have angry viewers share their thoughts on the matter. According to DailyMail, the star was criticized for allegedly going blackface in promo pics for her KKW Beauty makeup line, however, she was quick to clarify that she was just “super tanned”.
Another reason Kim may have changed her hairstyle up in braids is to alleviate the intense upkeep her blonde hair requires. According to Kim, she spends up to 13 hours with her hairstylist Chris Appleton touching up her roots. Yikes, talk about high maintenance hair!
As if the star hasn’t had to defend herself enough, she was accused of going back to brunette on Twitter this past week. However, she promptly replied by saying, “No it’s just wet and slicked back” as the reason her hair looked darker.
It seems as if a slight change in Kardashian's hair can cause a controversy, but what doesn’t when it involves a Kardashian?
