It’s a girl!
Born at 12:47 AM on January 15th and coming in at 7lbs 6oz, Kim captioned her announcement with the simple but exuberant message: “She’s here!”
“Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl,” Kim wrote on her website. “We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care. North and Saint are especially thrilled to welcome their baby sister.”
The Kardashian West family has yet to announce a name for the baby girl, but in keeping with there other two children, it will likely pair well with the surname West.
Kim and Kanye have two children, North West a and Saint West, aged 4 and 2 respectively.
Their latest baby was born via surrogate as Kim suffers from placenta accreta, a condition which causes her placenta to grow into the muscles of her uterus. The condition is potentially life-threatening as it can cause horrific muscle tears during birth, greatly increasing the risk of exsanguination in labor.
At the recommendation of her doctor, Kim and Kanye decided to have their third child by a surrogate. The identity of the surrogate has never been disclosed to protect her.
It is believed the baby was born at Cedars-Sinai Hospital, which was where the famous couple had both North and Saint. The exact location and circumstances of the birth are not yet known outside of the precise time.
The Kardashian clan continues to grow with Kim’s latest offspring, but Khloe Kardashian isn’t too far behind. Khloe is reported six months pregnant with her first child. As the show is somewhat behind on current events, you can catch Khloe announcing her pregnancy to the rest of the Kardashians on the latest episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
