When some of the biggest names in showbiz sell a mansion, you know it’s a big deal. When Kim and Kanye West sell a mansion, it’s astronomical.
According to TMZ, The rapper and reality TV star just sold their Bel-Air mansion to the tune of $17.8 million. Compare that to what they bought the place for in 2013, a mere $9 million, and you know that property values for the exclusive California neighborhood have skyrocketed.
The 10,000 sq ft house on a single acre property sold to Ukrainian philanthropist Marina Acton. Acton is a tech CEO based in Silicon Valley who decided to start a music career and move to LA. She reportedly found the house to be “creating and inspiring.”
The esteemed real estate duo Matt and Josh Altman, made famous on Bravo’s daytime TV show Million Dollar Listing LA, represented both sides of the deal. Escrow closed last week.
With their former pad sold, the Kardashian-West family are reportedly moving to the Hidden Hills residence. The sprawling estate has been under renovations since being purchased for $20 million. It was purchased from Lisa Marie Presley in 2014, and also included the neighboring lot for $2.9 next door.
The planned renovations are extensive, with the final estate having enough features to qualify it as a strip mall. So far, there will be a huge gym, basketball court, hair salon, a full spa with massage room, a music studio (for Kanye, naturally), and a full-sized theater complete with Dolby surround sound. The kids will have a two-story playroom filled with enough toys and games to never be bored again.
The whole place has been a construction zone for years, with totally new structures being built along with the renovations to the existing property. There was some concern it might never be complete, but with the Bel-Air sale finalized, the new Hidden Hills home must be complete enough to have some very wealthy new residents set up shop.
Just in time too, the Kardashian West family soon to be a little bigger with the addition of their third child. Kardashian is having the baby via surrogate as her previous pregnancies with Saint and North were complicated by placenta accreta, a potentially deadly condition.
