The couple conceived Luna and their second child through IVF treatment after attempts to conceive naturally failed. The pair came under fire in 2016 after Teigen revealed they had hand-picked a female embryo during the process to ensure they had a daughter. "What is the difference though?" She clapped back to negative comments. "I've already created embryos with a doctor. Only after must it be random? What year is this?! And for the record I am always happy and open to speak on infertility. The more casual, the better! I don't mind." She went on to joke, "I also picked the embryo with a taste for bacon, a knack for magic and size 7 feet so she can always find shoes."
The Sports Illustrated model already revealed before the news of her pregnancy was announced that all of their remaining embryos were male, however, this is the first time since then that she has discussed the sex of the baby. According to the Daily Mail, fans and celebrities alike left a barrage of congratulatory comments, including Bravo's Andy Cohen and actress Reese Witherspoon. Teigen later shared a cute picture of herself with Legend snuggled on the sofa, captioning it "Afterparty."
