The last Playmate that Hugh Hefner ever picked is shocked to know that she will now go down in history as the last of an era, and will be uttered in the same breath as the legendary Marilyn Monroe.

Jessica Wall was selected to be the centerfold for the September issue of Playboy magazine. The Chicago native heard of Hugh’s death on Wednesday and was utterly shocked at the news, as well as the sudden realization she was the last Playmate of the Month to be hand chosen by the legendary Hefner himself.

Her steamy photo spread can be viewed on Playboy’s latest issue, but a savvy Google user can locate them after a quick search. Her measurements are 34-24-35, by the way.

Speaking to TMZ, Wall is floored that she will be the last in a long line of Playmates that goes all the way back to 1953 when Hefner selected a nude pinup of Marilyn Monroe to be the centerfold of the very first issue of Playboy magazine.

"Oh, wow, you think about it,” the obviously flustered Wall begins, “Marilyn Monroe started it, and now I'm the last one he chose before he died. To me, that's just mind-blowing."

She goes on to say that she hopes that Hefner is remembered for more than just being the man who handpicked each woman to grace the pages of Playboy. Hugh was a large proponent of civil rights, having interviewed such prominent activists as Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr., during a time when more timid publications refused to provide a platform for their message. He was also a prominent supporter of gay marriage and equality, saying that “without it, we will turn back the sexual revolution and return to an earlier, puritanical time."

Wall also offered her condolences to the family, saying also that the Playboy offices were a family business more than a corporate one.

She has promised to attend the final party in honor of Hugh at the Playboy Mansion and hinted that there may be a surprise in store to pay tribute to the man who started it all.
