It's been awhile since we've heard from Jessica Simpson, but the singer has recently shown up in West Hollywood attending her husband's birthday bash. And she may have gotten a little bit tipsy.

Okay, a lot tipsy. She nearly face-planted the pavement on her way out of the restaurant.

Simpson and company arrived at Craig’s Restaurant in West Hollywood Tuesday night to let loose and celebrate her husband’s 38th year on this planet Earth. Her hubby, Eric Johnson, a retired NFL tight end, along with friends and family spent nearly five hours at the well-known celebrity haunt, reveling in good food, good booze, and good times.

Maybe a little too good. Johnson had to hold Simpson up after exiting the restaurant and she seemed to be taking quite a few stumbling steps on her way to the waiting car. At one point, she seemed to trip and if Johnson hadn’t been there to catch her, she might’ve gone face-first into the sidewalk. Luckily, her knight in shining armor was there to catch her when she fell and the crisis was neatly averted.

Simpson’s less than graceful exit probably had a lot to do with the alcohol that she surely consumed while inside, but the army of photographers that greeted her with thousands of flashing bulbs upon stepping outside probably didn’t help much.

Simpson didn’t say much as she stumbled to her car, even though reporters peppered her with questions about Taylor Swift’s latest album and even inane things like how to take the perfect butt-pic. Which is something she may know a thing or two about given what she’s recently posted on her Instagram account.

In celebration of her husband’s birthday, Simpson snapped a racy photo of Johnson holding two beer steins over a bent over Jessica and giving everyone a flash of her thong underwear. She followed up the picture with “38 IS GREAT” along with the hashtag #IAMSOHOTFORYOU. It’s good to see romance is alive and well in their relationship.

Some of Simpson’s more conservative followers weren’t quite as impressed. One commented, “behaving like a Kardashian” followed by the pig emoji.
