Jennifer Lawrence gave her audience a slice of her trademark IDGAF attitude when she gave a speech about corruption in politics at the Unrig The System event in New Orleans last Saturday.
According to the Daily Mail, the Oscar-winning actress was only one of the big names to attend the event which is described on the website as "a gathering of thought leaders from the right and left who are determined to fix American politics." During her address, Lawrence expressed her hopes and desires for the future and highlighted some of her points by flipping the bird.
Lawrence is known for her no-holds-barred approach to stardom, and it looks like she's lending that same panache to politics. In the past, the 27-year-old surprised a group of high school students by giving an unannounced presentation around the government and challenges America currently faces. The star didn't spend all of her time on the podium during her trip to New Orleans, though. She was spotted at the back door of a restaurant in the city, talking to a well-dressed gentleman and smoking a hand-rolled cigarette. The press quickly latched on to the strange appearance of the cigarette, with many media outlets suspecting that it may not be full of just nicotine - if you catch our drift.
The Hunger Games actress is currently gearing up for the release of her newest movie, Red Sparrow, a spy thriller in which she plays the part of a Russian intelligence officer. The picture has no shortage of big names, including Joel Edgerton, Joely Richardson, and Jeremy Irons. Based on the novel of the same name, this latest venture is highly anticipated by audiences and critics alike.
Lawrence didn't come off unscathed from her last movie, Mother! which divided opinion across the board. Some critics called it director Darren Aronofsky's masterpiece, while Esquire's David Holmes called it "The harshest and most aggressively unpleasant experience I have ever had in a movie theater, possibly ever, and I sat through The Emoji Movie."
Lawrence and Aronofsky split soon after the movie was released.
